I started my journey at Verbrec when I was a university graduate with a degree in civil engineering. In the beginning, I initially joined the team as a planner.

Later, I seized the opportunity to move laterally across the business into asset management, where I learned the Verberc Way of developing solutions that increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve productivity.

Now, I am an HSEQ Engineer in the Infrastructure Services Group. Being a part of the Verbrec team has allowed me to move into positions and areas of the industry that I normally wouldn’t have access to.

Working across the business has allowed me to understand projects from a range of perspectives, and I believe that every project has helped me learn something new.

Different clients have different views; different states have different legislation. By virtue of being a gas pipeline, every location is different.

I feel very lucky to work with the team at Verbrec and to have the opportunity to further my professional experience as well as my education.

Through the company, I have been given the chance to get my post-grad diploma, and now in my HSEQ role, I can go through and complete my Cert IV and potentially my diploma – if I can find the time!

I’ve also been able to further my industry standing through the Verbrec team by attending conferences and networking so I can gain firsthand knowledge on methods and attitudes across the industry.

Verbrec continues to grow across Australia, and our presence is even now expanding to New Zealand.

It’s great to see the company thrive and witness more talented people join the team.

But right now, I’m just really enjoying changing it up and seeing what else I can achieve within my role.
