Arrow Energy is currently undertaking stage one of the Surat Gas Project (SGP) and is in the planning phase for future developments. One of these future opportunities is the Girrahween development area.
Verbrec has been engaged to undertake the Front End Engineering Design for the Girrahween to Bellevue Pipeline.
The project involved the engineering design of a DN450 (18-inch) 26km long steel pipeline connecting Arrow’s Girrahween Field Compressor Station to QGC’s Bellevue Central Processing Plant.
The pipeline will have an approximate maximum operating pressure of 2170kPag and a flow rate of 116 MMscfd.
A multi-discipline design approach was implemented for both the buried pipeline and end-of-line facilities to meet Arrow’s engineering design requirements.
Verbrec’s efforts resulted in a robust and detailed engineering solution for the project, which eliminated uncertainties and mitigated risks.
Some of the potential risks/uncertainties that were identified and engineered included:
- Pipeline third-party threats
- Fire and gas detection
- Emergency shutdown
- Pigging operations for management of internal corrosion
- Leak/rupture within the end facilities
The resulting output from the FEED was an Engineering Design Package which will enable Arrow Energy to move towards FID and progress to the execution phase of the project.
Verbrec’s FEED deliverables will ensure that the next phase of the project will be streamlined and cost effective.
