Verbrec was commissioned to investigate the water demand, assess potential water resources and develop a strategy for meeting the supply shortfall. The investigation produced recommendations for mine site dam and pumping upgrades supplemented by a new tank farm and 40km supply pipeline.
Saunders International Limited initially engaged Verbrec (then GWB Engineering) to complete the design of the piping and structures associated with the terminal, while Saunders project managed, designed & constructed the 10 tanks. Wilmar Gavilon later took over the project management from Saunders with Verbrec continuing the design and providing project engineering and procurement support.
Our role included:
All mechanical, civil, structural, process, electrical and instrumentation engineering and drafting. Over 700 drawings produced.
Redevelopment of a site used for a number of different industries since the early 1900’s provided some unique challenges. Restrictions within the design caused by site layout, existing services (underground HV cable and marine navigation markers) and wharf operations, resulted in a site with a relatively small footprint.
Verbrec’s experienced project team worked within these constraints to successfully deliver the project to the clients satisfaction.
