Verbrec is proud to announce our partnership with GasNZ as a Professional Services Associate Member, reinforcing our commitment to enabling a sustainable energy future across Aotearoa.
As New Zealand’s energy landscape continues to evolve toward a net-zero emissions future, Verbrec is deepening its engagement with key industry bodies to ensure we can best support our clients and communities in this journey. Our recent alignment with GasNZ brings together our practical expertise in biogas and biomethane infrastructure with a platform that is shaping the future of sustainable gas in New Zealand.
“This is a natural transition for our expert teams,” said Peter May, General Manager – New Zealand. “Having delivered successful bioenergy projects, we are proud to apply our deep technical capabilities to green gas solutions that will play a pivotal role in the net-zero journey.”
GasNZ’s mission is to facilitate the development of sustainable gas solutions through collaboration, policy development, safety standards, and industry education. Verbrec’s inclusion as a Professional Services Associate Member provides us with a seat at the table to contribute to these critical initiatives.
“The relationship with GasNZ allows us to contribute our expertise in sustainable gas to help shape policies, education, safety, and the evolution of standards,” added Erik Vandenberg, General Manager – Energy Transition. “Together, we are creating a more sustainable future for the clients and communities we serve.”
This partnership also aligns naturally with Verbrec’s longstanding membership in the Bioenergy Association of New Zealand, expanding the reach and impact of our engagement across the clean energy and circular economy ecosystem.

Driving Industry Collaboration at Te Papa
As part of this partnership, Erik Vandenberg and Peter May will represent Verbrec at a major upcoming industry event in Wellington.
Hosted jointly by GasNZ and the Bioenergy Association, the event will be held at Te Papa in Wellington on the 17–18 July, bringing together leading voices from across the gas, energy, and organic waste sectors. The event will focus on practical solutions to accelerate the decarbonisation of New Zealand’s energy system and explore the role of biomethane and bioenergy in achieving climate targets.
Verbrec is honoured to participate alongside industry peers, sharing insights on technical delivery, engineering excellence, and the future of bioenergy infrastructure in New Zealand.
Enabling a Net-Zero Future, Together
This partnership marks another step in Verbrec’s growing presence in New Zealand’s energy market, and our mission to walk alongside clients as they navigate their transition away from traditional hydrocarbons.
Whether through policy influence, infrastructure delivery, or capacity-building, Verbrec remains committed to creating real and lasting impact in the energy transition, helping to deliver a cleaner, more sustainable future powered by green gases.
