The scope of works included carrying out internal and external inspections of the headers and tubes plus structure, and providing a report on the operational life expectancy of the coolers.
An internal videoscope inspection was completed that identified significant internal deposits and the potential for under-deposit corrosion to occur, which would substantially shorten the remaining life of the assets.
Verbrec made a recommendation to remove the deposits via a chemical cleaning, which removed a significant volume of deposits. The result was an increase in remaining life expectancy from 5–8 years to 10–15 years.
