The new reactor plant was required to be constructed adjacent to the existing reactor while the existing plant remained operational, and then tied-in and commissioned during a short plant shutdown.
The project required the design and construction of a new building in a narrow access lane between two existing buildings. Verbrec was engaged to provide design expertise in structural design, high pressure and temperature piping and pressure vessels, and to supplement the process and electrical design performed by QNP.
